Snowy Lessons - Rockpool Ramble Print

Rockpool RambleAs part of the environmental program at Snowy River Campus, all students undertake a half day of coastal exploration. Heading down to West Cape Conran, students delve into the intriguing world that exists within the intertidal zone.

With a Rockpool Ramble the highlight of the day, the students explore the many critters and creatures that reside along the picturesque East Gippsland coastline. Cavorting with crabs, selecting shells, playing with pippies and mixing with mini mussels, the students get up close and personal with the fascinating adaptations and behaviours of rocky shore wildlife.

Collaborating information from research and observation, students develop a brief presentation on a topic related to their findings from the session. This practical class combines research and observation skills together with presentation skills and team work to develop knowledge and understanding of marine and coastal ecosystems and the organisms that reside along the shore.
