LLP Day Print

Students from Orbost North

Today was one of the big days we had been looking forward to, but also dreading heaps. It was LLP day and after 9 o’clock headcount the race was on to get organised. Each expo group had 3 teams that each had a topic to present to a group of younger students from Orbost North primary school.
Today was one of the big days we had been looking forward to, but also dreading heaps. It was LLP day and after 9 o’clock headcount the race was on to get organised. Each expo group had 3 teams that each had a topic to present to a group of younger students from Orbost North primary school. When the students arrived we basically introduced the school and then went out to play the welcome games. We then split into a groups and started presenting. My group went first and our topic was rock pools. We had 4 students to teach and their names were Steph, Vikki, Max and Josh and they were really co-operative and fun. After our groups presentation we rotated to the others. Their topics were ‘Large Sea Animals’ and ‘Surfing’. After each activity we all got really good feedback and the students seemed to really enjoy it and contributed to each of our talks. When lunch was over we were told that the students didn’t have to go back for another half an hour, so we decided to play another game with the whole school. Overall, it was one of the great experiences in my time here because it’s not every day that you get to be the teacher and get to choose what you talk about.
