On the first of November 2009 Callum, Erica, Blake and Sheydin held and ran a Raft Race Day at our local recreational lake, Green Lake.

The idea of the day was to help celebrate and show how much the filling of Green Lake meant to the community after it had been dry for the past 10 years.

In preparation for this day we had to organise posters/advertisement, funding from many local businesses, raft race rules, setting of the day, activities, food and drinks just to name a few things that we did.

The day ran very smoothly from the help of classmates and various other people helping us in making the day work. There was live music entertainment, food/drinks van and also a raffle. There was also entertainment such as a jumping castle, dunking machine, face painting and also the lake to cool down in on this hot day.

The day finished off with speeches from us Snowy River Campus students presenting the winners of the raft race.

After the day had finished, we managed to raise $859.80. This was donated back to the community with half going to the Green Lake community and the other half going to the Sea Lake Hospital.
