The Snowy River Experience Print
Hello, my name is Cullem and this is my blog report from Saturday 6th August. I’ve survived the first two weeks here at SRC, which wasn’t that hard. It’s a nice place here and everyone is pretty friendly. Life here is quite enjoyable, living with 44 other teenagers and their personalities. There have been some mishaps, but then this is 45 teenagers we’re talking about here. The lessons are very fun and the outdoor activities are great. My favourite activities so far have been canoeing and surfing. Classes on a usual day are from 9-12:30, 1:30-3:30 and 7:30-8:30. The morning and afternoon classes are either indoor classes or outdoor classes. The evening class can be activities, educational movies or guest speakers. We’ve had a police inspector come in to talk about Cyber safety and we just missed out on a visit from the local Ranger, Ranger Mike. We’ve also had, during the day classes, Darren McCubbin come in to talk to us about our beliefs and values.

Today I was student leader with Rebecca C, and it was pretty fun. We got to have a talk with the student leaders of the other campuses on a HD TV and we got out of the chores for the day. Even though I didn’t have to, I still decided to do the serving at tea time. It was also a little annoying, as people didn’t always be quiet when they were meant to and this caused me to respect my teachers more, who have to deal with this every school day. I was student leader on a Saturday, which was a rest day. We could go for a bike ride, watch a movie, go to the beach or spend your day relaxing in some other way. Or just catch up on work. This leadership school is quite fun and I am looking forward to the rest of the term!
