Bridge Building with 1B Print
Written by Jack- Red Cliffs Secondary

our bridgeOn the 8th of October 1B went bridge building. It was really fun and it was nothing like anything I’ve done before. We made a bridge out of wood and rope and tied them together to make four HUGE tripods! We then moved the tripods into a line one after the other to get to the Kayak. It was also even more difficult because we had to build the bridge without touching the water.

It’s a great team building activity. We first decided on a plan then Mr Morton and Miss Van Dijk showed us how to tie the knots and connect the wooden posts together. Even now I can remember some of the knots they taught us and hopefully they can become a life skill. It then started raining down on us! Luckily we packed waterproof pants and jacket the SRC supplies us. So we continued construction. We then moved the tripods into the water but some fell over, so we had to get them out of the water without touching the water. Tripods are really heavy. Eventually we managed to create a bridge with our four tripods. It was a great feeling of accomplishment.
