Hands up at LLP DayYesterday, the 3rd of November 2010, the two of us were student leaders for our Local Learning Project (LLP) day. 21 students from the Marlo Primary School, grade 2-6, came onto campus for the day.  At first the kids were a bit shy but after a few games they got really involved and inquisitive. We were split into groups of four for the day and each of the groups watched three presentations, about thing in the local area (marine and wildlife, bush tucker and outdoor safety), that we had prepared in the last week or so.

The kids were a lot smarter than we thought they were going to be but we think they all really enjoyed the day. It was a really great day and it was good to be able to educate the children about their local area and have fun at the same time. Another plus was that one of the primary school kids had a birthday so we all sang to him and had chocolate cake, a treat that we rarely get here! We now appreciate the effort that teachers put in to teaching us, after being in charge for a day and doing what they would usually do. We enjoyed the day a lot and have learnt a lot more about responsibility and sharing our knowledge.
