Whilst in Melbourne last week I had the pleasure of catching up with one of my past teams, Mullauna College SRC team from Term 3, to watch them undertake their Community Learning Project. Their project was to deliver a series of workshops focussing on bullying issues to students of Nunawading Primary School.
I caught them on the second day of their project, where they had split the group of around 40 into two groups in order to facilitate interactive discussions. Topics covered different forms of bullying, what a bully is, active/passive bullying, how to cope when being bullied, and dealing with bullies. They used a range of techniques including role plays, games, online activities, and discussions. The primary students were all very engaged, and even the primary school staff were keen to check out the event.
It was great to catch up with the team and see how well they were all doing. They were most excited to be putting their CLP into action, and told me how proud they were of their term at SRC. It was great to hear they were still in regular contact with most of the other Term 3 schools, and it was of course great to hear of the energy they have maintained at school since their return.
Well done team on the completion of a very successful project!
